The hub of the Gastein area of Austria, Bad Gastein is an unashamedly upmarket resort.

The Gastein area provides access to over two hundred pistes, so the skiing is consistently varied and challenging. There is less provision, though, for either beginners or snowboarders.

In keeping with the serious nature of the skiing, evening activity in Bad Gastein is distinctly cultured. Visitors can choose between the theatre, classical music and ballroom dancing.
