An option for those skiers who want to avoid the Alps and the Pyrenees without having to go transatlantic, Bansko is at the vanguard of growing Bulgarian ski tourism.
As an emerging resort, Bansko is untouched by the commercialisation of some of the Alpine destinations, and still retains much of its charm. This does mean though that the skiing and facilities are not quite as modern as in the more fashionable resorts.
