To ski at Chamonix is to ski down Europe's highest peak.
You cannot descend all 4,810 metres of Mont Blanc, but you can access enough of it for a skiing experience unlike any other in Europe. The most famous way down Mont Blanc is the Vallée Blanche, a thrilling off-piste route which often suffers from over-crowding.
Prices in Chamonix are as high as one would expect given its unique opportunities, but for those that can afford to stay in the town there is an après-ski scene to rival even St Anton and Ischgl.
