Las Leñas - Argentina

Despite being set up as recently as 1983, Las Leñas is already one of the best ski resorts in the Andes. It has excellent powder snow, good weather and is well provided for in the evenings. Experts and snowboarders will enjoy the novelty of the Andean challenge, with very good backcountry access.

One downside, though, is the distance. Visitors will have to fly to Buenos Aires, and then on to San Rafael, before the punishing final coach journey to the resort.
