Portillo - Chile

The oldest ski resort in Chile, Portillo maintains a traditional atmosphere which escapes some of the 'new world' resorts. It is not the largest resort in the Americas, with only twenty three ski trails served by twelve ski lifts. But by limiting the number of skiers on the slopes at 450 each day it never becomes rushed or cluttered.

As with the other Andean and Antipodean resorts, the ski season runs from June to October.
