Snowbird - USA

High altitude, famous light powder, perfect snowboarding terrain: Snowbird has much in common with the rest of the best Rocky Mountain resorts. Its close neighbour Alta can be accessed by the same joint day pass or joint season ticket, giving the skier access to 2500 acres of skiable terrain.

Snowbird's greatest attraction to the expert is the Aerial tram up to a peak of 990m, from which most of the single and double black diamond slopes start. There is also famously varied and exciting terrain for snowboarders, plus snowparks in the Gad Valley, and very good ski schools for those less confident.
