The unquestioned party capital of the Austrian Alps, St. Anton is most famous for its raucous après-ski scene.
Naturally, this attracts thousands of young skiers and snowboarders every season. The loud and lively atmosphere can be either an attraction or an irritation, depending on your group.
In the day, though, the skiing is excellent: St. Anton has over 260km of pistes, and hosted the 2001 World Alpine Skiing Championships.
