St Luc - Switzerland

St Luc, with its twin resort Chandolin, are one of the best kept secrets of the Swiss Alps. They are situated on the sunny south-west side of Val d'Anniviers, a new community of ski resorts in Valais. The villages, charming and built from timber, are full of interest: the Francois-Xavier Bagnoud astronomical observatory is fascinating and makes a nice change from the usual rotation of bars, cafes and shops found in Alpine resorts.

But we cannot ignore the skiing: St Luc is home to 75km of pistes, unspoilt and uncrowded. A real gem of a find.
