St Martin de Belleville achieves the perfect balance between a resort which offers the best of mass-market skiing – via the Les Trois Vallées ski area, while preserving the essence of local culture. St Martin does have its own pistes (61 of them), but holidayers will be keen to experience the breadth of options afforded by Les Trois Vallées: 500 pistes over 600km.

The pooling of pistes does not imply the pooling of culture, though. St Martin de Belleville maintains its distinct character, with its traditional wood and stone architecture, its fresh produce on sale, and its churches/
