Tsakhkadzor - Armenia

Another former Soviet resort enjoying a renaissance as new money comes in. Tsakhkadzor is in the Caucasus, sixty kilmotres from Armenian capital Yerevan. It is relatively small: five lifts and sixteen slopes. The slopes tend to avoid over-crowding which improves the quality of snowboarding and off-piste opportunities.

Tsakhkadzor is well-equipped in terms of hotels, restaurants and bars. The ski season lasts from December to April, with the best snow in April.
