Ylläs - Finland

Finland, like Bulgaria, is an option for those enthusiasts who have grown tired of the Alps but have no interest in going to north America. The resort of Ylläs is Finland's largest, with excellent provision for downhill and cross country skiing as well as snowboarding.

Given how far north Ylläs is, skiers must be aware of the lack of sunlight at crucial times of the year. Despite this, the evening snowmobile wildlife tours are a fascinating chance to see the huskies and reindeer that define the area.
