What sort of jacket should I buy?

The most important part of your clothing, your jacket is your outer shell and your first line of defence against the elements. It must be robust enough to be windproof, waterproof, snowproof and fallproof. It’s not just a case of buying any heavy coat, though. Your jacket must have the technology to make it a one way street for liquids – one that can allow your moisture to pass out (its ‘breathability’) while not letting any water in from outside.
